Norfolk International Terminals

Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) is our largest terminal. NIT is home to the world's largest container cranes. These Suez-class container cranes, each measuring 219 feet are the largest in the world. They can work ships with containers stacked 22 across, moving as many as forty 50-ton containers in an hour. Recently completed, NIT North has effectively doubled the cargo handling capacity of the terminal.

Phase I of the improvements to NIT-South are well underway. Four Suez class container cranes with the abiltiy to reach 26 containers across will be delivered in August 2003. Reconstruction of 4230 feet of marginal wharf, 100' feet wide to accomodate the new cranes is rapidly progressing.

Norfolk International Terminals is located at 7737 Hampton Boulevard, Norfolk, VA 23505. From I-64E take Granby Street exit, then bear right on Terminal Blvd. to NIT. From I-64W take I-564 (left exit). Proceed on Terminal Blvd. to NIT.
